Connecting state and local government leaders

As we count up to 50, check out finalists 11 through 20.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — I’m here at the International City / County Management Association’s 102nd annual conference where a few thousand local government managers and other city and county public-sector professionals have gathered for the next few days in the City of Fountains to discuss the ideas, challenges and solutions that are driving the change and improvements in how public services are being delivered at the local level.

Since promoting excellence in government management is part of ICMA’s mission, and name, it’s an appropriate spot to roll out finalists 11-20 in our Route Fifty Navigator Awards program.

Those team and individual finalists are part of our second category, Department and Agency Leadership. Excellence in management is necessary to be successful for leaders in agencies and departments and we’re excited to announce the next batch of finalists as we count up to 50.

While traveling in North Dakota earlier this month, I released finalists 1-10 from the Government Allies and Cross-Sector Collaborators category. Finalists in the Executive Leadership, Next Generation and Data and IT Innovators categories will be announced in the coming weeks. And once we’ve selected our 50 finalists, we’ll pick two winners per category.

In the meantime, stay tuned this week as we roll out finalists 11-20. We’ll be adding their names to the bottom of this post and link to a short profile on who they are and what they’ve accomplished. (And stay tuned for Route Fifty’s coverage from ICMA conference, too.)
