Here’s how the Controller’s Office has made it easier to plan time-off and access payroll information from an app.

The Los Angeles City Controller’s Office just made it easier for city employees to keep up with their salary and benefits information through a new mobile app.

MyPayLA is part of a suit of Inside LA Mobile apps boosting citizen engagement and improving city services.

Here’s how it works:

Prior to MyPayLA’s release, city employees could only access their pay stubs and payroll information on a city computer—not always convenient, as the video attests.

Now pay stubs can be downloaded to employees’ mobile devices, the payroll calendar can be viewed remotely and leave balances referenced to make vacation and time-off planning from home easy.

The L.A. City Council recognized Controller Ron Galperin’s team and L.A.’s Information Technology Agency for the app in May.

Los Angeles’ mobile suite also includes city telephone directory, IT service request and office management system apps among others.
